Call for Musicians: Applications Now Open for 2018 Stars in the Park Summer Concert Series

Applications are now open for musicians and bands that would like to be considered for performing in the line-up of 2018 Stars in the Park.  Stars in the Park is a free summer concert series that takes place over nine weeks each Thursday evening at the Heritage Park Amphitheater at 24915 Farmington Road in Farmington Hills.

Bands interested in performing at one of the concerts may submit an application at https://form.jotform.com/62565787858175 or through the City website at www.fhgov.com under Activities, Programs, Cultural Arts, and Summer Concerts. Applicants should include links to websites, Facebook or YouTube where their performances can be viewed.

All Stars in the Park concerts start at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and last until approximately 8:30 p.m.  In case of inclement weather, the concerts are held at the Costick Center located at 28600 Eleven Mile Road.

High school students may also apply at this time.  Each year, there is a High School Music Night where local young artists have an opportunity to broaden their experience and share their work with new audiences.  At this concert, several musicians perform for ten minutes each.  Farmington Hills features this event in conjunction with Farmington School of Rock, which supplies the equipment for the show.

Concert goers love the natural setting of Heritage Park and many make a tradition of going to several concerts each summer.  Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket, lawn chair, and picnic dinner to enjoy on the hill.  No alcohol or pets are allowed in Heritage Park.

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is the exclusive sponsor of the summer concerts. They offer two raffle drawings for concert goers to win a Mercedes-Benz driving experience.

The Stars in the Park Concert Series is a free program brought to you by the City of Farmington Hills Special Services Department’s Cultural Arts Division.  For more information, call the Cultural Arts Division at 248-473-1848.
