How do I join the Farmington Hills Dog Park?

Step 1 - Watch the mandatory orientation session. The orientation session can be found online, a DVD copy is available to check out at the Costick Center, or it can be viewed in the computer lab in the Costick Center’s Conway Hall. The orientation session will review the park rules, the responsibilities of the user, behaviors you may observe in your dog while at the dog park, and the process for obtaining a fob and tag. Step 3 - Registration can be completed by mail or in person at the Costick Activities Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48336. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Wednesdays 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM. To register you will need the following: application & waiver, proof of Farmington or Farmington Hills residency, proof of current vaccinations - Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella, copy of current Oakland County dog license, and payment. Payment may be made by check, cash, or credit card (MC/Visa). Once completed, you will be issued a key fob and dog tag that will allow you and your dog access to the park.

Dog License Information

Oakland County will waive the delinquent fee for dog licenses for the remainder of 2020.

One-year dog license fees will continue through the rest of the year at the rate of:

  • $10.50 for a spayed/neutered dog
  • $18.00 for a male/female dog (senior discount available with proof)

Three-year licenses are available for dogs whose rabies vaccination is valid through 2022.

The City of Farmington Hills Treasury Division is closed to the public until further notice and cannot process dog licenses.  Here are ways to purchase a dog license:

  • Online with a credit card via the Oakland County Animal Control website at https://www.oakgov.com/petadoption.  Due to the COVID-19 health emergency, the Enhanced Access Fee (EAF) is currently waived.  The fee may be displayed, but it will be waived upon checkout and will not be charged to your account.  Check your emailed receipt for verification.
  • By mail, if you do not own a computer, tablet or smart phone.  Mail your license fee via check or money order, and proof of current rabies vaccination, to:

2020 Dog Park Annual Pass Fee 

Good through January 31, 2021
Farmington Hills and Farmington residents only.

Dog Park Location – 29040 Shiawassee Road, between Inkster and Middlebelt.

  • Yearly pass $35
  • Second dog $10
  • Third dog $10
  • Replacement key fob $10

Fee is waived for Certified Service Dogs.

William Grace Dog Park Incident Report Instructions

If an incident occurs at the William Grace Dog Park, dog owners should follow the City of Farmington Hills Dog Park Rules and Regulations. In the case that a registered dog park member would like to file a formal report, the William Grace Dog Park Incident Report must be completed within 48 hours of the incident.

Complaint and/or Rule Violation Process:

Once the incident form is submitted it will be reviewed by a Special Services employee and they will reach out for additional information.
