UPCOMING ELECTIONS:

February 27, 2024 Presidential Primary Election 
 
UNLIKE OTHER ELECTIONS, THIS ELECTION REQUIRES VOTERS TO CHOOSE A PARTY BALLOT STYLE.

Michigan Election Law guides the conduct of the Presidential Primary and requires voters to indicate in writing which political party ballot they wish to vote.  This requirement only applies to Presidential Primary election, and voters will not be required to select a political party ballot type for any other type of election. There is no political party registration requirement in Michigan Election Law. 
 
You must make your ballot selection in writing by completing the Ballot Selection Form (if on the Permanent Ballot List) or checking the appropriate box on the Absent Voter Ballot Application:

Important Dates to Remember:
 
Thursday, January 18th – Absent Voter ballots will be available in-person at the City Clerk’s Office. First mailing of Absent Voter ballots to voters who have already submitted an application or are on the Permanent Ballot List.
 
Monday, February 12th - Last day to register to vote in any matter other than in-person at your local Clerk’s Office.
 
Tuesday, February 13th through Tuesday, February 27th until 8:00pm - A person may register to vote in-person at their local Clerk’s Office with proof of residency.
 
Saturday, February 17th through Sunday, February 25th - Early In-Person Voting available at the Costick Activities Center (28600 W. 11 Mile Rd.) from 8:30am-4:30pm, except Thursday, February 22nd when hours are Noon-8:00pm.
 
Friday, February 23rd 5:00pm - Deadline for voters to request an absent voter ballot to be mailed via first class mail.
 
Monday, February 26th 4:00pm - Deadline for registered voters to request an absent voter ballot in-person at the City Clerk’s Office. Ballots must be voted in-person at the City Clerk’s Office.
 
Tuesday, February 27th until 8:00pm - A person registering to vote in-person at the City Clerk’s Office may obtain and vote an absent voter ballot with proof of residency or vote in-person at their proper precinct.
