CITY OF FARMINGTON HILLS MAJOR ROAD PROJECTS
Farmington Road Rehabilitation Project (12 Mile Road to 13 Mile Road)
This City of Farmington Hills rehabilitation project is now complete and scheduled to open to traffic October 13, 2023.
GREAT LAKES WATER AUTHORITY PROJECT (GLWA)
14 Mile Watermain Loop Project (Citywide, primarily along the Haggerty/I-275 corridor)
The watermain crossing that required the closure of 9 Mile Road near I-275 is complete and 9 Mile Road has been reopened to traffic. This ongoing GLWA Project is progressing and is expected to continue with watermain installation throughout the winter months until complete. Miscellaneous paving, restoration and plantings will follow and are expected to be complete in June of 2024.
ROAD COMMISSION FOR OAKLAND COUNTY PROJECTS
Middlebelt Road (I-696 to Maple)
This Road Commission for Oakland County Project is expected to be short in duration and includes installation of a maintenance overlay to extend the life of the pavement. Work is expected to be complete in the next 3-4 days per the Project Manager. For more information on RCOC projects please visit the website,

MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MDOT)
I-696 (I-275 to Lahser Road)
This $275 million project includes rebuilding the roadway from the base up, including storm sewer replacement work, overpass rehabilitation and rebuilding ramps at Orchard Lake Road, American Drive, Franklin Road, M-10 (Northwestern Highway), and US-24 (Telegraph Road).
Work included in the 2023 calendar year includes all of eastbound I-696 from I-275 to Evergreen Road and is expected to be substantially complete by late November. Westbound lanes will be rebuilt in 2024.
