Assessment Board of Review

The Assessment Board of Review is a statutory board responsible for the review of the tax assessment roll and hearing citizens' appeals of their assessments. The three-member board has the authority to make corrections where necessary and to endorse the tax roll of the City for the year in which it has been prepared in accordance with Section 7.06 of the Charter. The City Assessor serves on the board but cannot vote. All other members cannot be City employees. The Chairperson is chosen at the first meeting. The board meets during the second, third, and fourth weeks of March; once during the third week of July; and once during the second week of December.
