Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is available through the Costick Center and includes Lifeguarding/CPR/AED/FirstAid. Certifications are valid for two years. Classes consist of online and classroom coursework. Class participants must be on time for all class sessions. Employment opportunities are available with the City of Farmington Hills for Lifeguards/Swim instructors with outstanding course completion.
Lifeguarding Instructor
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Certification is available through the Hawk Aquatics Center. Classes consist of online and classroom coursework that prepares you to teach the basic-level Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED courses to the American Red Cross standard.
New Certification - Students must be a minimum of 15 years of age by the class completion date. Students must be able to pass all class prerequisites.
Re-Certification - Discounted $100 less than a new certification. Review and test out to renew your current certification. To qualify for re-certification lifeguards must present their current certification on the first day of class. Certification must not be expired more than 30 days.
