City of Farmington Hills to Hire Nearly 200 for Seasonal Positions in Engineering, Arts, Recreation, Public Works and More

Hiring events will be held March 11 and 17 at The Hawk, giving youth and professional applicants a chance to learn more about positions earning up to $1,000 per week

 

The City of Farmington Hills announced today that it will hire nearly 200 employees for seasonal opportunities in the City’s Special Services Department and Public Services Department for spring and summer 2025. Jobseekers are invited to learn more and interview for available positions at two hiring events at The Hawk at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 and Monday, March 17.

 

Positions are open to jobseekers looking for part-time or full-time seasonal work, including youth and professionals, high school students, college students returning home for the summer, retirees and more, with pay up to $25 per hour and weekly pay up to $1,000.

Spanning a multitude of skillsets, open positions in the City’s Special Services Department are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, artists, athletes and more, with openings in all areas, including Aquatics, Cultural Arts, Facilities, Golf, Ice Arena, Parks and Recreation. The City is also seeking staff for its expansive summer camp program, a staple for families across metro Detroit, which provides activities and education to thousands of area youth in sports, nature, art, music, dance, theatre and more.

 

The City’s Public Services Department will hire in its Engineering Division and Division of Public Works (DPW). Seasonal DPW workers will assist with landscaping, roadside clean-up and traffic control. Available DPW positions start at $15 per hour with work hours from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Staff members are provided City of Farmington Hills work shirts, as well as the necessary training and support needed to have a successful experience as a City employee. The Engineering Division will add three seasonal engineering aides to assist with construction inspections. These roles are open to college students studying civil engineering and start at $18 per hour.

 

Interested applicants are asked to arrive to the hiring events at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 or Monday, March 17 in Harrison Hall on the second floor of The Hawk, the City’s award-winning recreation and arts venue, located at 29995 W. Twelve Mile Road in Farmington Hills. Attendees will have the chance to meet with representatives from various City departments and divisions to learn more about available opportunities, submit applications and interview for the position or positions in which they are interested.
