The Hawk Makerspace Launches Crafted in Kindness: Make One, Give One Challenge on Saturday, Nov. 23
Aspiring crafters are invited to join the challenge and help keep our community warm this holiday season
WHO: Metro Detroiters with a passion for crafting and community impact are invited to join the Crafted in Kindness: Make One, Give One Challenge. This event welcomes participants ages 12 and up to combine creativity with compassion by crafting warm winter items for those in need. Open to all skill levels, ranging from absolute beginners to crafting experts.
WHAT: Kick off the season of giving with our Make One, Give One Challenge social hours and crafting sessions! Join us for a welcoming community event that starts with free coffee, tea, and light pastries. Learn how you can make a difference with creativity, creating hats and mittens to keep our community warm this winter one stitch at a time.
Following the social hours, attendees can participate in drop-in crafting sessions to make two hat and mitten sets—one to keep and one to donate. Each session includes guidance on domestic sewing machines at The Hawk Makerspace. All skill levels are welcome, and no prior sewing experience is needed.
Pre-registration is not required, but space is limited. Attendees may register here to secure a spot for the crafting sessions. The registration fee includes all materials, necessary supplies, and instruction. By the end of the session, participants will be able to use the Makerspace sewing machines independently in the future. Farmington Hills residents receive a $5 discount, and no prior sewing experience is needed.
