The Hawk Theatre Welcomes the Year of the Snake At Lunar New Year Celebration and Concert

The event on Jan. 25 will give community members a chance to explore Chinese culture

 

WHO:        The Hawk Theatre in Farmington Hills invites metro Detroiters of all ages and backgrounds tocelebrate the Lunar New Year, while immersing themselves in Chinese culture and traditions.

 

WHAT:          The Hawk Theatre in Farmington Hills is celebrating the Lunar New Year with an evening of activities and music for community members of all ages. Lunar New Year, sometimes called Chinese New Year, is a widely celebrated festival across the world, observed to commemorate the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar calendar. This year, the festival marks the transition from the Year of the Dragon (2024) to the Year of the Snake (2025). 

 

The event will include a family-friendly cultural celebration with crafts and activities, followed by a concert featuring modern and traditional Chinese music. Tickets are $15 in advance at TheHawkTheatre.com, or $20 at the door. Tickets include both the cultural celebration and concert.

 

Programs at The Hawk Theatre are coordinated through the Cultural Arts Division of City of Farmington Hills Special Services Department. The City of Farmington Hills has the largest dedicated municipal Cultural Arts Division in the State of Michigan, which oversees arts programming for the community, including classes, events, and activities in visual and performing arts, and year-round performances at The Hawk Theatre, with a goal to expose diverse populations to the arts.
