Opportunity Awaits: City of Farmington Hills to Hire More Than 100 People for Seasonal Positions in Arts, Parks, Recreation, Public Works and More

The City of Farmington Hills announced today that it will hire more than 100 employees for seasonal opportunities in the City’s Special Services Department and Division of Public Works (DPW) for spring and summer 2024. Jobseekers are invited to learn more and interview for available positions at two hiring events at The Hawk on the evenings of Monday, March 4 and Tuesday, March 12. Compensation for available positions ranges from $11 to $20 per hour, with pay up to $800 per week.

Spanning a multitude of skillsets, open positions in the City’s Special Services Department are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, artists, athletes and more, with openings in all areas, including Aquatics, Cultural Arts, Facilities, Golf, Ice Arena, Parks, Recreation and Senior Divisions. The City is also seeking staff for its expansive summer camp program, a staple for families across metro Detroit, which provides activities and education to area youth in sports, nature, art, music, dance, theatre and more.
 
Seasonal DPW jobs include landscape and cemetery maintenance, traffic control, pavement repair, roadside clean-up, and forestry. Compensation for available DPW positions starts at $15 per hour with work hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Staff members are provided with City of Farmington work shirts and the necessary training and support needed to have a successful experience as a City employee.
 
Interested applicants are asked to arrive to the hiring events at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 4 or Tuesday, March 12 in Harrison Hall at The Hawk, the City’s award-winning recreation and performance venue, located at 29995 W. Twelve Mile Road in Farmington Hills. Attendees will have the chance to meet with representatives from various City divisions to learn more about available opportunities, submit applications and interview for the position or positions in which they are interested.
 
Attendees will also receive a free slush and day pass for The Hawk, which allows access to the venue’s extensive fitness amenities and state-of-the-art aquatics facility.
