(Camp Counselor/Part Time) Visual Arts Camp Assistant

Job Description

Under the direction of the Farmington Hills Special Services Cultural Arts camp leadership team and Visual Arts Camp Specialist the Visual Arts Camp Assistant will supervise and interact with children through visual arts-based curriculum in specialty camps. Camp Assistant will also aide in training and providing professional support to peer Visual Camp Aides and/or Visual Camp Workers within the camp program.  Camp Assistant will assist Visual Arts Camp Specialist in facilitating projects and activities.  The Camp Assistant will provide a clean and safe environment for children by identifying and responding to camper behavior issues and assisting with cleaning. Camp Assistants work with Visual Arts Camp Specialists to implement weekly schedules and maintain accurate program records. Camp Assistants must be alert and aware of themselves, the campers, and their surroundings.

While performing the duties of the job the employee is required to stand, sit, kneel, walk, talk, see, hear, and use hands or fingers to handle objects and reach with hands and arms. The employee lifts and/or moves up to 30 pounds.
