Camp Teacher / Part Time Visual Arts Specialist

Job Description

Under the direction of the Farmington Hills Special Services Cultural Arts Supervisor and Cultural Arts Coordinators, the Visual Arts Specialist will supervise children and Camp Assistants while providing a safe environment at camps. The specialist will plan and deliver arts-based lessons and activities, lead and implement a consistent weekly schedule including games, and more. Specialist must be able to identify and respond to camper behavior issues alongside safety of campers and staff. They must interact with children and parents appropriately while creating a positive camp environment and making sure other staff members feel supported. The specialist must provide a healthy balance of fun and educational visual arts programming daily throughout the summer.

While performing the duties of the job the employee is required to stand, sit, kneel, walk, talk, see, hear, and use hands or fingers to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms. The employee lifts and/or moves up to 30 pounds.
